1. How do I find the right gemstone for myself?
It's always best to consult an astrologer as the right gemstone is chosen after a detailed analysis of your birth chart. Once you share your name, time and place of birth along with other details, they will prepare your birth chart, analyse it and then recommend the gemstone that's specially chosen for you.
2. Are all gemstones at Vedic Gems natural?
Yes, every gemstone at Vedic Gems is 100% natural, IGI certified, and suitable for Jyotish. Drawing on four centuries of gemstone and jewellery heritage, we ethically source the finest gemstones from the best mines across the world, then handcut and polish each one, so you receive a gem of undeniable quality.
3. Do your gemstones come with certification?
Yes! Every gemstone at Vedic Gems arrives with its own IGI certificate, verifiable online at any moment. From sourcing to cutting, polishing, certification, and everything in between, we manage it all so you get a gemstone that's 100% Natural, IGI Certified, and ethically sourced.
4. Can I buy a gemstone without an astrology consultation?
Of course. At Vedic Gems, you can easily buy a gemstone directly, although it's best to consult an astrologer to ensure that the gemstone is truly attuned to your chart. If your gemstone has already been prescribed, simply select the carat weight or ratti and budget. If you need guidance, you can submit your details into our Vedic astrology tool, Saarthi, to discover which gemstones will be beneficial for you.
5. How do you recommend a gemstone?
The right gemstone is the one that's chosen for your chart, and that's why we recommend consulting an astrologer who will analyse your birth chart and recommend the most benefic gemstones for you. Once your gemstone has been prescribed, our role begins. We source, cut, and polish your gemstone before delivering it loose or setting it into a ring or pendant for you.
6. Are treated or synthetic gemstones used for astrological purposes?
No. In Jyotish, only gemstones that are earth-born and untreated are believed to possess planetary energies. So, treated, lab-grown, and synthetic gemstones are never part of what we offer. At Vedic Gems, every gemstone is 100% Natural, IGI Certified and ethically sourced from the most trusted mines across the globe.
7. What is the difference between Ratti and Carat?
Carat is the international unit of gemstone weight, where one carat equals 0.2 grams, while ratti is the traditional Indian measure used in Jyotish. In modern practice one ratti is taken as a little under one carat, so we quote both on every gemstone for clarity. For authentic Jyotish use, we recommend you get as close to the gemstone ratti or carat weight prescribed by your astrologer.
8. Can I customise my gemstone jewellery?
Yes. Once you've chosen the gemstone carat weight or ratti and the shape you prefer, you can have it set in a ring or pendant. When it comes to metals, you can choose from silver, gold (9K, 14K, 18K), and Panchdhatu. Each piece is handcrafted by master artisans, ensuring you receive a flawless piece that showcases impeccable craftsmanship.
9. How long does it take to receive my order?
A loose, certified gemstone reaches you within about a week. A gemstone set in jewellery takes a little more time, as every piece is made to order, customised as per your specifications and crafted especially for you.
